More about Alexander Mill

Alexander fought and Passechendaele during 1917, but the following year on 30 June 1918 he was injured in a gas attack which caused severe chemical burns to his legs. He returned to Dundee to recuperate and took no further part in the War. He returned to his previous employment as a docker in Dundee and also worked at Clydebank during WW2 until his retirement. Alexander died in 1988 aged 93.

Alexander was the brother of Sapper Joseph Mill 37649, New Zealand Engineers who also survived the war.
