DUNDEE SOLDIER DIES OF WOUNDS.

Intimation has been received by Mrs Robertson, 26 Bruce Street, Dundee, that her son Private Alexander Robertson, 3/1^st Highland Cyclist Corps, has died of wounds. Private Robertson enlisted in July last year, and was one of a batch of thirty sent to France a few months ago, where they were attached to another regiment. Private Robertson, who was about 19 years of age, was prior to enlistment employed by Messrs J & A. D. Grimond. An elder son of Mrs Robertson, Private John Robertson H.L.I., was a prisoner of war in Germany for thirteen months, and, being disabled, was exchanged. On returning to this country he received his discharge from the army.

Although this obituary appeared in the local papers, there is no one on either the C.W.G.C. or S.D.G.W. The Scottish National War Memorial or the original Dundee Roll of Honour that could definitively be found to fit the details for this man.
