DUNDEE NAVYMAN’S RELICS OF ANTWERP.

A piece of German shell and a granite like oblong object, which proved to be a biscuit, are among the relics brought home from Antwerp by Robert M’Claren, a Dundee Naval Volunteer, who resides at 19 Blackness Street.  As a stretcher-bearer, it fell to him to convey shattered Belgians and Britishers from the battlefield to hospital.  “Duck lads!” was the cry, he said, when the nerve-racking whizz of a shell was heard in the air.  He got more than one glimpse of the Germans, but could not make out their faces―it was generally their backs.
