                                      DUNDEE SOLDIER GAINS MILITARY MEDAL.

Private James Hennessey, Black Watch, son of Mrs Hennessey, 62 Lilybank Road, Dundee, has gained the Military Medal for gallantry displayed by him between 21st and 26th March last.  The gallant soldier, who is 21 years of age, joined up in September, 1915, when he was about 19 years of age.  He was sent to France in December of the same year, and has twice been wounded, and is now lying in hospital suffering from an injury.

Private Hennessey was formerly employed as a shipyard worker.  His eldest brother Private Thomas Hennessey, Royal Scots, was killed early in May, 1917, while a brother William, is serving with the Royal Scots in France.
