More about James McGinty

James served as a cook with the Royal Scots Fusiliers during the Great War. His brother William was too young to go to war but was so desperate to go that he changed his surname, taking his mothers name of McCabe, and lied about his age. After the war he remained as William McCabe.

Information and image very kindly supplied by James great granddaughter, Laura Mahady.
