More about James Petrie

James Petrie   Army Service Corps

DUNDEE N.C.O. MENTIONED.

Mrs James Petrie, 14 Kinloch Street, Dundee, has received word that her husband, C.S.M. James Petrie, has been mentioned in despatches for his services in the field.  C.S.M. Petrie joined the old Volunteers fifteen years ago, and rose to the rank of sergeant.  On the formation of the Territorial Force in 1908 he was transferred to the A.S.C., and then became C.S.M.

At the outbreak of hostilities, he was mobilised with his company, and proceeded to the front in the spring of 1915.  In civil life he was in the employment of Thomas Justice & Sons, Limited, furnishers, Ward Road, Dundee.
