MONIFIETH SOLDIER KILLED.
Mr and Mrs John Caird, Burnside Place, Brook Street, Monifieth, have received information that their son, Rifleman James Caird, New Zealand Rifles, has been killed in action. The deceased, who enlisted in New Zealand last year, was home on leave in May, and had only been a short time at the front. Before emigrating to New Zealand six years ago, he was in the employment of Messrs Muir, Son & Patton, Limited, Monifieth. This is the second son Mr and Mrs Caird have lost at the war, and another two are still serving.
