Jeffrey worked at the Caledon Shipyard, Dundee prior to being conscripted in 1917 into an unknown regiment, Regimental Number 33029, before being transferred to the 10th Works Battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers with the Regimental Number 38755, he was also to serve within various battalions of the Labour Corps . Following the end of the Great War he served with 45th/46th Battalion Royal Fusiliers(London Regiment) in Russia from May-December 1919. he then transferred to the 1st Battalion Seaforth Highlanders Reg No 2811203 in 1920 and served with them until he was medically discharged 15th April 1942. Jeffrey was married in 1930 and died in Glasgow, 07.03.1949. He served in the army for over 25 years and 2 World Wars.
