Son of John Robertson and Jemima Robertson (nee Mills); younger brother of Oliver Mills Robertson (Service No. 63758)Tried by District Court Martial July 2, 1919 for ‘Committing a civil offence, that is to say stealing, in that he at Witley, on or about 15 June 1919, stole a safe, the property of the Army and Navy Canteen Board’. Convicted and sentenced to be reduced to the ranks, to be imprisoned with hard labour for two years, and to discharged with ignominy from His Majesty’s Service.

Discharged in disgrace and incarcerated in H.M. Prison at Wandsworth.

John was the brother of Pte Oliver Mills Robertson, 63758, 3rd Battalion Canadian Infantry, who was killed by a bomb 18.11.1915, whilst demonstrating its use.
