John Smith CZ/398 Hawke Battalion R.N.D.

Fourth Time Wounded.

Intimation has been received by Mr Jas Smith, 52 Annfield Road, that his son A.B. John Smith, Hawke Battalion, Royal Naval Division, has been admitted to hospital suffering from a gunshot wound in the left leg. This is the fourth time A.B. Smith has been wounded, while he has also suffered from gas.  He enlisted in 1914, and served in the Gallipoli campaign, and also at Salonika, ultimately proceeding to France.  Prior to the war A.B. Smith was employed as a waiter with Mr Alex. Speed, wine and spirit merchant, Chrichton Street, Dundee.
