John Watt Winter 202179 Labour Corps
Private John Winter, of the Labour Corps, who was a gardener at Fothringham prior to enlisting, has died from wounds, his father, who resides at Monikie, having been notified to that effect. After being rejected on account of defective eyesight, he was accepted for military service in May of last year. He was wounded in action recently and had been back in France for only a fortnight when he met his death. Private Winter was 20 years of age.
