More about Andrew James Morgan

ST ANDREWS SOLDIER KILLED.

Mrs Morgan, Thornbank, St Andrews, has been informed of the death in action of her son, Corporal Andrew Morgan, A. and S. Highlanders.  Before joining the Army, deceased was in the employment of Messrs Draffen and Jarvie, Dundee.

In a letter to Mrs Morgan his C.O. says:-“Your son was one of my outstanding n.c.o’s, always cheery bright and most obliging, and I was looking forward to the time when he would be granted his commission, as he would have made a splendid officer.  As becomes a true Highland soldier he fell in the fray leading and cheering on his men”
