DCM record 21 Oct 1918

Farrier Q.M.S. Peter Timmons. R.F.A. (Dundee), showed the most conspicuous courage and skill in sending ammunition to his battery. When the difficulties supplying were very great. His fine work in the waggon line and the condition of the horses in the battery reflected the greatest credit him.

CINEMA MANAGER’S BEREAVEMENT.  Mr J. J. Timmons, the well-known manager of the Cinema De Luxe and Picture House, Denny, sustained a sad bereavement this week by the death of his eldest brother, Mr Peter Timmons, which occurred on Monday at Craigrothie. Lochgelly, the residence of his brother, ex-Provost Tom Timmons. The deceased had a wide circle of acquaintances in Denny, where he was frequent visitor and occasionally deputised in a managerial capacity for his brother. The late Mr Timmons was 68 years of age, and was on Army service for 25 years, a couple of decades of which were spent in India. His period of service included the Great War during which he had the distinction of being awarded the D.C.M. for gallantry in the field. The remains of the deceased were interred in Dundee—his home town —on Thursday.
