Robert Boland  2185  Black Watch

PRIVATE IN HOSPITAL IN FRANCE.

Private Robert Boland, 13 Pennycook Lane, received a bullet wound in the hip, and is now lying in hospital in France.  In a postcard to his wife he states that the bullet was extracted on Tuesday. Thirty-eight years of age, Private Boland joined the “Fourth” on the outbreak of hostilities, but he had previous military experience, having served seven years in the 3d Black Watch at the time of the Boer War.
