More about Robert Tait Wilson
For reasons unknown Robert is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour.
Robert Tait Wilson 203002 Seaforth Highlanders
DUNDEE SEAFORTH KILLED.
Mr Robert Wilson, 40 Cleghorn Street, Dundee, has just been informed of the death in action of his son, Private Robert Tait Wilson, Seaforth Highlanders. This sad intelligence is confirmed in a letter from an officer, in which he writes :–“Your son died gallantly doing his duty. His going is a great loss to the battalion, as he was a good soldier.”
Deceased, who was only 19 years of age, enlisted in the A.S.C., at the outbreak of war. Some time ago, however, at his own request he was transferred to his present regiment, the Seaforths.
Previous to enlistment he was employed with his father in his business of warehousemen and manufacturers’ agents, Baltic Street, Dundee.
