William Tait 235434 Gordon Highlanders
Intimation has been received that Private William Tait, Gordon Highlanders, has been killed in action. Private Tait was the eldest son of Mrs Tait, 133 Victoria Road, Dundee, and of Mr Wm. Tait, Auckland Mills, Calcutta. Private Tait enlisted in March, 1917, and had been in France for over a year. He was educated at Morgan Academy, where he gave signs of great promise. He won the chemistry medal while at the Academy. On leaving school Private Tait entered the Territorial Force Headquarters office, Panmure Street, Dundee, where he remained until he joined the army.
