Thomson Ross was born in Dundee and lived at 22 Gellatly Street, Dundee. He was the eldest son of Mr Thomson Ross of Dundee. In 1914 and 1915 he was a crew member of the El Zorro, Volnay and Cluden. His death is recorded as taking place in the Workhouse Hospital in Southampton where he was admitted from his ship on 1 October 1918. Pneumonia is given as the cause of his death.
