DUNDEE SOLDIER WINS MILITARY MEDAL.

Mr Wm. Balfour, gardener, Rockfield, Perth Road, Dundee, has received information that his son, Private William Balfour, 8th Cyclist Corps has been awarded the Military Medal for “gallantry in the field as a runner and keeping in touch with the cavalry under shell fire.”  Private Balfour has been almost three years in the forces, and has served for over18 months at the front.  Prior to enlistment he was employed in the office of the Buist Spinning Company, Limited, Stobswell Works, Dundee.
