More about William Bell
For reasons unknown William is not listed on the original Dundee Roll of Honour.
William Bell 37115 Highland Light Infantry
DUNDEE SOLDIER
SUCCUMBS FROM WOUNDS.
Mr and Mrs Bell, 3 Elder Place, Dundee, have received official intimation of the death as the result of wounds received in action of their son, Private William Bell, H.L.I. A pathetic feature in this young lad’s death is the fact that he was coming out of the trenches five minutes before the armistice was signed when he was wounded. He has died in a London hospital. Deceased was 22 years of age, and had been in the army 3½ years. Before enlisting he was employed in the sample room of Trades Lane Calender, Dundee.
