William was the brother of Bombardier John Robertson Lamont, 486, 50th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery, who was killed in action, 06.05.1917.

DUNDEE MEDALLIST A PRISONER OF WAR.
News has been received by Mrs C. Potter, 6 Tait’s Lane, Dundee, that her son, A.B. William C. Lamont, R.N.D., who was reported missing on 26th October last is a prisoner of war in Germany. A.B. Lamont, who enlisted in May, 1915, had seen service in Salonika and France, and on his 19th birthday this year was awarded the Military Medal. His elder brother was killed in action in May, 1917.
Previous to enlistment A.B. Lamont was in the employment of Mr James Aimer, coffee merchant, Cowgate, Dundee.
