James Young   3/3706   Black Watch

Although his period of service as a reservist had expired, Private James Young, whose death in action has just been intimated, immediately rejoined his old regiment, the Black Watch, and was attached to the 9th Battalion. Deceased, who was a son of Mr Alexander Young, 55 William Street, Dundee, was 35 years of age and unmarried, and prior to the war was engaged in Glasgow, where he was employed in the locomotive department of the Caledonian Railway.  Before proceeding to France, Private Young was transferred from the 9th Battalion to the 1st and was fighting with B Company when he met his death.
