Morag and Charlie marry

Morag wanted to get married in December 1918 but Charlie was to weak from the flu and her father had not returned from France. With so many men awaiting transport home Peter had to wait on his turn. The sun shone that Spring day in 1919 as Morag and Charlie tied the knot. The war had stolen the smile from the face of the boy she met on the tram when she was 15 but she was thankful for what she still had. Charlie caught her eye as he raised a glass to the heavens. She smiled and knew what he was thinking, as she too took a long moment to remember her brothers, lost at Loos.
