David has no known grave but is remembered on the Menin Gate Memorial. He is believed to be the brother of Driver Thomas Boland, M2/102004 M.T. Company, Army Service Corps.

BOLAND―Reported wounded on the 11th November 1914, later reported missing, now presumed to have died on or about the above date, Private David Boland, Royal Scots Fusiliers, aged 18 years and 4 months, second beloved son of Martin Boland, No. 1 Wilson Place, South Road, Lochee.
