John Marchant Brown 43227 Highland Light Infantry
Private John Marchant Brown, H.L.I., who was killed in action on 5th October, was the son of Mr Robert Brown, 13 Langlands Street, Dundee. Deceased was 21 years of age, and enlisted in December, 1915, in the H.B.C., but was afterwards transferred to the H.L.I. He proceeded to France in June, 1916. Prior to the war he was an apprentice pastry baker with James Keiller & Son., Ltd., Dundee. Mr Brown has a son who has been in France four years.
