KILLED BY A SHELL.

Private Frank Coyle, Black Watch, was killed by a shell.

In a letter to his widow, who resides at 3 Cross Row, Dundee, a comrade says that a shell landed in the midst of five members of the Black Watch, killing two outright and wounding the rest.

Private Coyle enlisted at the outbreak of war, and was 34 years of age. Previous to enlistment he was employed in Queen Victoria Works, Dundee.  He was at the front for over a year.
