More about James Donaldson

James Donaldson   Captain   Royal Army Medical Corps

GALLANT FIFE OFFICER KILLED.

Mrs Donaldson, Falkland, has received intimation of the death in action of her husband, Captain James Donaldson.

Early in his career Captain Donaldson was a member of the Banker Company of the Queen’s Edinburgh Volunteers, and went with that company, then attached to the Royal Scots, through the South African campaign. He afterwards joined the Black Watch.

In June, 1915, Captain Donaldson lost an eye, but returned to the front as soon as possible.  He was agent of the Falkland branch of the British Linen Bank, and was a member of the Town Council, School Board, and Parish Council.  He started the Boy Scout Company in Falkland.  Much sympathy is expressed for Mrs Donaldson and her children.

In the list of new J.P.s for Fife which we publish to-day appears the name of the deceased.
