DUNDEE ENGINEER DIES OF WOUNDS.

Driver David Elder, Royal Engineers, has died of wounds.

His parents, who reside at 166 Ferry Road, Dundee, have received a letter from a chaplain containing the sad intelligence.  The letter, which is dated 23rd Feb., says :–“I regret to say your son was rather badly wounded last night while going up to the advanced trench with a convoy.  He was struck on the left side with a piece of high explosive shell.  He was immediately taken down to base.  He passed away quietly the same night.  One of the last things he did was to thank the orderly for his kindness.”

Deceased who was twenty years of age, was a native of Abernethy, and enlisted at the outbreak of war.  He was previously employed by Wordie & Company.  Deceased two other brothers are also at the front.
