Alexander Herd Ewan 1428 Black Watch
KILLED AT CHUM’S SIDE.
Corporal A. H. Ewan, 2nd Black Watch, a grandson of Mr J. Ewan, 6 Benvie Road, Dundee has fallen.
A private in the battalion, a chum of the corporal, writing to me Ewan, stated that he was killed at the writer’s side.
Corporal Ewan was 23 years of age, and had served seven years with his battalion, four of which were spent in India.
