Adam has no known grave but is remembered on the Menin Gate Memorial. He was the brother of Pte John Finlayson, M2/222137, 1028th M.T. Company, Royal Army Service Corps, who died on active service, 10.05.1919.

FORMER DUNDEE POLICEMAN KILLED.
Intimation has been received that Private Adam Finlayson, Scots Guards, was killed in action on 7th August.
Prior to joining the colours in February, 1915, Pte. Finlayson had been for about six years in the Dundee Police Force. His parents reside at Aberfeldy, while his widow and child reside at 18 Loons Road, Dundee.
