More about Arthur John Gailer
BROUGHTY FERRY SOLDIER KILLED IN ACTION.
Mrs Gailer, King Street, Broughty Ferry, yesterday received the sad news that her husband, Bombardier Gailer, R.G.A., was killed in action on 11th May. The informant is an officer of the battery, who, in expressing his own regret, says that the officers, n.c.o.s, and men share the same feeling regarding their dead comrade, who was “one of the best,” always eager to do his duty.
The deceased soldier joined the colours as a bugler, and has been about sixteen years in the army. He was called-up reservist, and was employed at Stannergate Electric Station. He was twenty-nine years of age.
