Morag joins the Land Army
The war bought employment opportunities for women and while munitions employed the most women other jobs such as office clerks, public transport workers and even work in shipyards was available. Women were poorly paid compared to men but the experience of work was opening women’s eyes. In October 1917 Morag decided feeding people was better than making weapons and so joined the Women’s Land Army.
