Hussein Abbas died in the Dundee Royal Infirmary from Phthitis Marasmus. He was a crew member of a British Merchant Ship and became ill whilst in Dundee harbour. Many British Merchant vessels had foreign nationals in their crews. Hussein Abbas is recorded in the Dundee Seamen’s Roll of Honour because Dundee is where he died and in the hope that Dundee men and women who died and or are buried elsewhere will be similarly recognized.
