More about Alexander Duncanson
Although the following newspaper report states that he was serving in the Cameron Highlanders at the time of death both C.W.G.C. & S.D.G.W. record him as serving with the Highland Light Infantry when he died. S.D.G.W. also record that he formerly served with the Royal Field Artillery, 143587.
A Cameron’s Death
Mrs Duncanson, 2 Peddie Street, has received word that her son, Pte. A. Duncanson, Cameron Highlanders, died of severe wounds on the 26th September. Private Duncanson enlisted about three years ago, and had been two years in France. He joined the R.F.A., but was subsequently transferred to the H.L.I., and later to the Camerons. In civil life he was employed in Mid Wynd Works, Dundee.
