ERROL OFFICER DIES OF WOUNDS.
Mr and Mrs George B. Doe, Homelea Cottage, Errol, have received official intimation that their son, Second Lieutenant Alfred B. Doe, Black Watch, has died of wounds.
Lieutenant Doe was well known and highly respected in the Carse, especially in his native parish of Errol. He served his apprenticeship as an architect and surveyor in the office of Messrs J. & F. Salmond, Dundee, and for four years prior to his enlistment he acted as principal assistant to Mr David Hardie, factor, Errol Estates Office.
Lieutenant Doe, after receiving about a years’ training in Lincoln’s Inn O.T.C., was gazetted in August last to the Black Watch, and almost immediately thereafter was drafted to the front.
Much sympathy is being extended to his wife and his parents in their sad bereavement.
