John was the brother of Pte Charles Henry Beatson, 37834, 2/4th Battalion Royal Berkshire Regiment, who was killed 14.09.1918.

John Beatson  S/42548   Gordon Highlanders

The two sons of Mr Beatson, 24 Watson Street, Dundee, have been killed in action within the past month.  John, who was a private in the Gordon Highlanders, was killed in action last month.  He was only 18 years of age, enlisted nine months ago, and went to France in August.  He was employed as a baker prior to joining the colours.
