A BRAVE AND OBLIGING FELLOW.
Private Francis M. Devany, Black Watch, whose sisters live at 78 Princes Street, Dundee, was killed in action on 23d April. An officer, writing to his relatives informing them of his death states that Private Devany was a very brave and obliging fellow.
He was 19 years of age, and prior to enlisting in March, 1915, was a jute worker in Craigie Works. He had been at the front since July last. Two brothers, Private Thomas Devany, Royal Scots, and Private Peter Devany, R.F.A., are at the front.
