More about Joseph Anderson

Joseph Anderson was the husband of Mrs Frances Mary Anderson, 7 Campfield Road, and also of Oakbank, Church Street, Broughty Ferry. His ship, the Dundee registered SS Warnow, was on passage from Penarth, Wales with a cargo of railway material when she was sunk by UC-48, six miles west of Trevone Head, North Cornwall. In all, fourteen crew were lost in the sinking and Joseph Anderson’s name is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial in London. Mrs Anderson was left with three children.
