Thomas drowned at Alexandria, he was the son of Lance Sergeant David Maxwell 12101, of the 1st Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers, who died 26.09.1917.
DUNDEE SOLDIER DROWNED
Mrs Maxwell, 181 Lochee Road, Dundee, has received intimation that her only son, Private Thomas Maxwell, H.L.I., has been drowned, and that his body has been recovered. Pte. Maxwell, who was 19 years of age, was called up in February last, and previous to enlistment was employed as a mill-worker in the City. Mrs Maxwell’s husband was reported wounded and missing since 26th September, 1917.
