William is believed to be the brother of Andrew Alexander McLean, S/31006, 6th Battalion Cameron Highlanders, who was killed in action 28.03.1918, and Pte George McLean, 6292, 1/7th Battalion Gordon Highlanders who was killed in action 13.11.1916.
