William Mudie D/31188 Cameron Highlanders
Pte. Wm. Mudie, Cameron Highlanders, son of Mrs McGregor, 38 Long Wynd, Dundee, has died of wounds received in action. In a letter his commanding officer states :– Pte. Mudie was struck by a piece of shell during an advance. He was very popular with the men of his platoon, and all feel his loss keenly. Pte. Mudie, who was 20 years of age, enlisted in 1917, and had been thirteen months in France. He was formerly employed as a carter with Robt. Taylor & Sons, Ltd., coal merchants. A brother is serving at present.
