Frank Purgavie   1458   Royal Fusiliers

The sad information has been received by Mrs Purgavie, 31 Mains Street, that her husband Private Frank Purgavie, 23rd Royal Fusiliers (Sportsman’s Battalion), was killed in action on the 1st March.  Deceased, who was about 35 years of age, joined the battalion on its formation, prior to which he was employed as a dye-worker with Messrs Wm Cleghorn, Ltd.  He leaves a widow and five of a family.
