John F. Shaw Second-Lieutenant   Royal Flying Corps

DUNDEE FLYING OFFICER KILLED.

Second-Lieutenant John F. Shaw, R.F.C., eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. B. Shaw, Willow Cottage, Seafield Road, Dundee, has been killed in England as the result of a flying accident.

The deceased officer, who was 18 years of age, proceeded to a cadet school in April, and received his commission in August of the same year.

Prior to enlisting he was employed as an apprentice joiner with his father.

Second-Lieutenant John F. Shaw, R.F.C., eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. B. Shaw, Seafield Road, Dundee, who met his death as the result of a flying accident in England, was given a military funeral in his native city on Saturday.  The deceased was previously Scoutmaster in the 1st Dundee Troop of the Boy Scouts, and the popularity with which he was held by his young colleagues was demonstrated by the large turn-out of the Scouts at the funeral.

The remains of Second-Lieutenant John F. Shaw, R.F.C., eldest son of Mr and Mrs J. B. Shaw, Seafield Road, who met his death as the result of a flying accident in England, were interred in the Western Cemetery on Saturday with full military honours.
