Robert Shepherd   3/2039   Black Watch

NATIVE OF INVERGOWRIE KILLED IN ACTION.

Official intimation was received yesterday by Mr Peter S. Shepherd, Commercial Street, Methil, that his son, Lance- Corporal Robert Shepherd, 3rd Black Watch, had been killed in action on 2nd November.

He was a reservist, and was called up on the outbreak of hostilities, leaving for the front on 16th September.  The last communication his parents had from him was a field letter dated 26th October.  He was reported missing six weeks ago.  The young soldier was a native of Invergowrie.
