James Reid Sutherland 9509 Seaforth Highlanders
An ex-Postman.
Private James Reid Sutherland resided with his mother at 103 Overgate, and was employed in the goods yard of the North British Railway Company when hostilities commenced. He was a reservist of the Seaforth Highlanders, and was sent at once to the front with the 2d Battalion, with which he had been in every action since the retreat from Mons. He was 25 years of age, and was at one time an auxiliary postman in the Dundee Post Office. He belonged to Dundee, while his father was a native of Peterhead.
