DUNDEE SOLDIER KILLED IN ACTION.

Private Thomas Davidson, Royal Scots, son of Mr James Davidson 6 Lamb’s Lane, Dundee, was killed in action on 5th June.  The intimation is contained in an officer’s letter, in which it is stated that Private Davidson was killed during an advance in an attempt to rush an enemy machine gun.  Deceased, who was 22 years of age, enlisted in the Black Watch in July last year, but was later transferred to the Royal Scots.  In civil life he was employed as a hairdresser, to which trade he served his apprenticeship with Mr Charles Milne, Commercial Street.
