He was killed in action whilst asleep in a dugout at Oost Dunkirk, together with 3 comrades, when an enemy shell made a direct hit on the dugout. William is believed to be the brother of Pte James Fraser 2124842, No1 Section, Skilled Railway Employees, Canadian Railway Troops.
