Objectors together
John served his sentence in a variety of places including holding cells at Dudhope Castle Military Barracks, Bell Street Police Station Dundee and Hamilton Prison before arriving at Ballachulish Road Camp in Argyll. He was in the company of a dozen Dundee and 200 other conscientious objectors including leading activist James Maxton, Ewan Carr and James Sangster.
