Susan cares for Charlie McTaggart
Susan saw many men die from small wounds. She rarely saw a man with a bullet wound to the torso as those men tended to die on the battle field. Charlie McTaggart was the man with the Dundee accent. Susan took it upon herself to care for him. He quickly became seriously ill with the infected wound caused by a bullet carrying threads of his filthy tunic into his flesh.
