David had 3 brothers who all served in the Great War. Pte Alexander Clark, 418140, of the 42nd Battalion, Canadian Infantry, Pte Edward Clark 2702 of the 1st Battalion, Black Watch, killed in action aged 19 on 6th May 1915, and Able Seaman James Clark, H.M.S. Royal Sovereign.
