Sturrock’s service record

Sturrock was the brother of Signalman, David Robertson Sadler, V/229, His Majesty’s Canadian Ship “Niobe”. David, his wife and daughter were killed 6th December 1917, in the Halifax disaster, which was a massive explosion which occured at Halifax, Nova Scotia, which was caused by the collision of 2 ships the “Mont Blanc” and the “Imo”. The explosion killed over 2000 people, injuring a further 9000.
